Padding the Portfolio

by Ben Posted in Original Music

So, I’m starting to put together my audio portfolio, and I decided it needed a little padding. So over the next few days I hope to write a few electronic / hip hop beats to pad my other music that I already have.

Here’s the first result. I like how it turned out, I decided not to develop it any further than I already did since it’s basically a demo. It was done with Reason and Pro Tools per usual. Took a little longer than it usually would because A) I had no idea what I was going to write when I sat down, and B) I figured out a whole bunch of things with Reason I didn’t previously know. Good stuff, let me know what you think!

  1. Listening to it with Sarah, sounds good buddy. Reminded me of all the electronic beats I’ve been hearing in SF4 lately…

  2. I like it. Its very up beat.

  3. We liked it. Does having your uncle and aunt like it drop its value? Maybe a good tune to market to Baby Boomers? Great beat.

  4. I like it. Yeah, sounds kind of like it could be vid-game music, too. But mostly it’s just really cool. :)

  5. Nice electronica… It has a little hip hop background but the electronic sound and piano definitely tags it as more like background music for a video game or something of the sort- like Gretch said.

  6. I really like it! It made me dance and then pull ninja moves…awesome

  7. I’ve decided this song could be playing during the credits to a Miyazaki film. I think it would fit perfectly there.
