Moving Time

The Pumpkin Jenny & I Carved

Welp, I spend the last week or so moving so there hasn’t been much time for extra little projects. While moving out I found my old digital camera that i bought in college for like $125. I mean OLD. This thing is like 1.2 megapixels. It was cool ’cause i found the cable for it also, and downloaded the pictures. Talk about a blast from the past, has it really been 3 or 4 years since we graduated? Sheesh.

Judo Chop played a halloween gig at the Old Post office which was really cool. I put together a compilation video of some bits and pieces of our show… again, nothing special but the show itself was awesome. First off, the old post office is this amazing building with like, 6 story high ceilings. Here’s the vid:

Speaking of Judo Chop & Orange Line, I’m trying real hard to get back into the writing music thing. It’s tough to find time for everything you want to do, but I’m working on my discipline. We’re hitting up Dragonfly studios in December to track our song “Grace.” We’re gonna release our 10 song album that we’ve been sitting on for a long time finally as well. With the new song though, we’re going to have to do a video for it and put it together in a digital press kit to get agent representation.

Lots of people ask me when we’re going to play out as Orange Line. Now while I really do want to play some local shows so my friends can hear the band, we have our sights set higher than just doing bar gigs for 30 or 40 people. It’s easy to fall into the swing where you play the same show every time to the same people. Playing with other bands gets you a few new fans, but it’s an extremely slow and long road winning over 5 fans at a time. If we’re able to land a good agent, we can try to get gigs opening for significantly larger acts. In our eyes, a 3 hour drive to play a 15 minute opening slot for a larger act is much more benficial to our career than a local headlining show at a bar. Make sense? Gotta keep the goal in mind.
